Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information Hunter Works Software (“we”, “us”) collects through the Binocular website and application, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The short version: the app analyzes your files locally and sends us nothing about them; the website collects the minimum needed to sell and deliver licenses and answer email.
1. The application
Binocular parses binaries entirely on your machine. The contents of files you open, their names, and anything derived from them are not transmitted to us or to any third party. The app requires no account.
2. The website
When you visit this website, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical logs — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested — used for security, debugging, and aggregate performance monitoring. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking scripts.
3. Purchases and licensing
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers; Stripe provides us with your name, email address, and order details. We use these to generate your license key, deliver it by email, and keep a record of your license so we can resend keys and provide support. See Stripe’s privacy policy for their handling of payment data.
4. Email
If you email us, we keep the correspondence and use your address only to respond and to maintain a support history. License emails are delivered through a transactional email provider, which processes the recipient address on our behalf.
5. Disclosure and overseas recipients
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate this site — payment processing (Stripe), transactional email delivery, and website hosting — and where the law requires disclosure. Some of these providers store data outside Australia (typically in the United States); we use providers with recognized privacy and security practices.
6. Retention and security
License and order records are kept for as long as your license exists, since they are your proof of purchase and how we resend lost keys. Support correspondence is kept as long as it is useful for helping you. We protect personal information with access controls and encryption in transit.
7. Access, correction, and complaints
You may ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it — email hello@hunterworks.software. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will respond promptly. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes to how purchase data is handled will be noted prominently.
